Attendance to Project Review presentations
Regular small weekly in peer to peer presentations to develop confidence in verbal skills and a End of Term Presentation event at which children attend presentations by qualifying children on Bronze & Explore Award present their projects and receive feedback from industry professionals.
Archimake Certificate of Completion
Every child who attends Archimake for the term receives a Certificate of Attendance at our End of Term Presentations (whether they are on a qualifying course or not). This is our progress tracker which runs in parrallel to the Awards. (Children can continue to attend Archimake without doing an Award for a qualification as they are optional.)
Inspirational Role Models
Each term children are introduced to at least 1 or 2 influential characters which children can research further in their own time. Children are also introduced to 1 or more industry professionals at our Projects Review event at the end of the year. At this event Industry Professionals give a brief career highlight presentation to show the variety of work design can lead to.
Teamworking
Teamworking is an integral part of the workshops. Model making workshops are carried out in small groups and develop important teamworking, collaboration and leadership skills. Professional designers and architects work in teams due to the scale of tasks and variety of skills needed so this equips children with necessary skills for their future.
Communication skills
Communication skills are developed through visual skills, drawing, drawing techniques and graphic sensibility, written and verbal skills are developed for children's final design project presentation. Essential transferable skills for career success in any discipline.
Qualification Options
Children can decide to enter the course for an Explore, Bronze or Silver award which lead to national qualification, including GCSE equivalents and providing UCAS points which count towards University applications.
