Minecraft to Architecture
For parents
From Minecraft builder to real architecture
Does your child spend hours building houses in Minecraft, The Sims or Bloxburg — and keep asking for something "more advanced"? That's not wasted time. It's the start of thinking like a designer.

You're not the only parent asking
One UK parent described it like this: their daughter "spends lots of her time making houses in the sims, Minecraft, and bloxburg… asking if there are some more advanced things." Many parents feel the same — they can see the interest, but aren't sure what the real-world next step is.
Archimake is that next step: art, architecture and design workshops for 7–18 year olds, led by experienced designers.

How game skills become design skills
Building blocks to a plan
In the game they place blocks. In Archimake they learn to draw a plan and section — how real architects show a building before it exists.
Decorating rooms to designing for people
Sims players already think about who lives in a home. We ask why: where does the light come from, how do people move, who is the space for?
Screen builds to models in their hands
Children make physical models, so they feel scale, materials and structure in a way a screen can't give them.
Showing friends to presenting ideas
Regular mini-presentations and a termly Project Review build the confidence to explain and defend their design choices.

Where it can lead
Returning students can work towards national qualifications — most are GCSE equivalent — so a game hobby can grow into something that counts at school and beyond.
