IMPORTANT NOTICE! New Workshop Times for 2023

For 2023 we have agreed with our Partner, Samsung, to move the times of our workshops to the afternoons. We have the option of Friday afternoon 4-7pm, or between 12-4pm on Saturday or Sunday afternoon. We would like our families to please go to dates 13th - 15th Jan 2023 on the poll to let us know which times are most suitable for you.

NBH Prep Workshop Summary

The NBH Prep students were a radiant group filled with energy and life to both learning and drawing the project from the screen to their page. They all engaged in questions and some attempted to regurgitate the overall concept of today's lesson. It's those moments of grasping spatial understanding that will allow the continual curiosity of design for the generation to come.

In the workshop we explored design for thermal comfort. Through looking at different palaces, chimney's there was detailed information to explain how hot air and cold air moves. To showcase it more there was a focus on Paternoster Square vents. Finally to end the workshop the children drew orthographic drawings of the vents. The children really did a good job trying to draw the vents, showing shading and structure

Archimakers learnt about how to meet cooling needs & power supply of large buildings. The visit to Heatherwixk Studio's Angel Wings project presented an inspiring and challenging drawing subject for Archimakers who did a great job!
