Toystand Workshop

Archimake workshop introducing structure and architectural language.
In our autumn workshop ArchiMakers learnt how building structure work.

The group was challenged to create a structure out of newspaper.

ArchiMakers where introduced to a part of a building structure. Keeping that in mind the kids designed their own unique structure out of newspaper and masking tape to hold the model together. Through this task the ArchiMakers developed high level critical thinking, creative abilities and team work. The outcome of the workshop was amazing as the kids were actively engaged with bigger scale task as their outcome. They also tested the structure using a toy to see if the model was strong enough to balance the object. This developed their understanding of different forces and what design changes could be made for a better outcome.

Curriculum subjects included Art, Design Technology and Maths & Science
