Toy Stand Workshop
Archimake workshop introducing section drawing representation.
In our second autumn Islington workshop ArchiMakers learnt about architectural structures by designing a toy stand.
The group was challenged to build a structure out of newspaper and make them take a weight of a toy.
ArchiMakers used rolled up newspaper and connect to each component to make a 3D stracture. This taught the kids about different types of forces and how structure can be made strong to hold a weight.
Through this task the ArchiMakers developed high level of problem solving skills and develop team work which is reflected on the outcome.
Curriculum subjects included Art, Design Technology and Science & Maths
